Feature Film Dreams4/9/2016
Fast forward to this year, 2016. I have been able to audition for various roles and shoots, landing some but the reality is, an audition never goes to waste. When you read about working actors in very large scale studio productions there are many stories like Mark Ruffalo for instance, who auditioned for more than 500 projects before landing something. What if he was to have given up on about audition 164? If you are serious about your passion there are never enough "no's" that can keep you from doing what you want to do. Earlier this year, I was able to send a video audition for a movie called "The Immortal Wars", directed by Joe Lujan from Carcuss Studios. It is an independent feature film, I like to describe it as X-Men meets the Hunger Games. They sent me sides for one of the main leads "Dominion Harvey", so I read for him and sent it in. I was offered the role of Jankins and they casted Eric Roberts (Dark Knight, The Expendables) for the role of Dominion Harvey. I have already began my scenes with the film and from the footage I have seen of what has already been shot, this is going to look awesome and it is going to be such a fun action film. I am gearing up to do my fight scene this next week and from attending a rehearsal fight I am so stoked to get this performance captured! In June, I have the opportunity of being in another independent feature film called "Residue", directed by Matt Channon in Salt Lake. This is a horror/supernatural movie. There are 2 other big projects that I am still waiting to hear back on. At times, it seems almost too surreal that I am actually doing and working what I have wanted to do for so so long in my life. The key to anything in life is gratitude. It seems as time continues to move forward and very fast as well. We start to become such consuming creatures, Every where we look is all about consumption, whether the technology we are using, to money even the relationships through social media, consume, consume, consume. It may be safe to say that, Gratitude, is becoming a lost response to our being. It is through our will power, heart and mind that we need to make those times for our thoughts to turn to gratitude with what we do have. There have been many times, I have gotten down because I needed to consume, consume, consume. I needed to consume more acting gig, job opportunities, filming gigs. I do, however, recall those other times, where I needed to make my heart and mind think and be grateful of opportunities I have had, the current situation I was in, no matter what it was. Gratitude needs to be at the front of our mind, and full in our hearts, always. Links
